Connected for a Cause was created by Connected Boutique to turn connection into meaningful action.

What began with one family’s experience navigating chronic illness and disability has grown into an initiative focused on bringing businesses, organizations, communities, and causes together to create greater awareness, support, advocacy, and impact.

Sometimes making a difference starts small — with a conversation, a partnership, a fundraiser, a shared story, or a business choosing to use its platform for something that matters.

Why It’s Personal

Our founder’s daughter lives with hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (hEDS), a complex connective tissue disorder that can affect nearly every part of daily life.

Through her journey, our family has experienced firsthand how difficult it can be to find answers, knowledgeable healthcare providers, appropriate resources, and a community that truly understands.

That experience changed the way we looked at what Connected Boutique could do.

We realized our platform could be used for more than selling beauty products. It could help create visibility, start conversations, support organizations doing meaningful work, and connect more people to causes that often go unseen.

That is why Connected for a Cause exists.

What We Do

Connected for a Cause creates opportunities for businesses, organizations, and communities to come together around chronic illness and disability causes through:

Awareness & Advocacy
Sharing stories, education, and information that help increase visibility and understanding.

Fundraising & Giving
Creating campaigns and initiatives that financially support organizations working directly within these communities.

Collaborating with organizations already doing important work and finding meaningful ways to strengthen their efforts.

Business & Community Collaboration
Encouraging other businesses and community members to use their platforms, resources, and reach to help create greater collective impact.

Our 2026 Focus: The Ehlers-Danlos Community

Ehlers-Danlos syndrome is where this journey began, and it remains deeply personal to our family.

Throughout 2026, Connected Boutique is supporting the Ehlers-Danlos community through fundraising, awareness initiatives, and charitable giving.

A portion of proceeds from designated sales and fundraising efforts is donated to The Ehlers-Danlos Society, supporting work that includes:

• Research and scientific discovery
• Patient education and resources
• Healthcare professional education and training
• Global awareness
• Advocacy for individuals and families affected by Ehlers-Danlos syndromes and hypermobility spectrum disorders

Why This Work Matters

For many people living with chronic illness and disability, being understood can take years.

Diagnosis may be delayed. Appropriate care can be difficult to find. Families may spend years searching for answers while navigating symptoms and challenges that other people never see.

Awareness matters.

Research matters.

Advocacy matters.

Community matters.

And when businesses, nonprofits, families, advocates, and supporters work together, individual efforts can become something much larger.

Connected for a Cause began because of our connection to the Ehlers-Danlos community, but the vision reaches further.

As the initiative grows, so will the opportunities to collaborate with organizations supporting people and families affected by chronic illness and disability.

Our goal is not to duplicate the work these organizations already do.

Our goal is to help connect people to it, support it, amplify it, and bring others alongside it.
